Programme

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to use AI to:

• Get definitions, synonyms, explanations and simplifications
• Streamline and enhance your research
• Extract terminology from websites and documents
• Turn ChatGPT into your multilingual email assistant

Josh Goldsmith is a UN and EU accredited translator and interpreter working from Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan into English. He splits his time between interpreting, translating, and teaching at the intersection of interpreting, technology and education. As Geek-In-Chief of techforword, Josh shares tips about technology, translation and interpreting in conferences and workshops, academic articles, as co-host of the AI in Translation and Innovation in Interpreting Summits, and at techforword insiders, the premier online community for innovative language professionals.

Time and place

The workshop will take place on Thursday, 26^th June 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM via Zoom.
Participants will need a stable internet connection. Headphones, a mic as well as a webcam are recommended. They will receive information regarding preparation several days before the workshop.
Neither ASTTI nor Josh Goldsmith will be liable for any technical problems.
The workshop will be recorded. The recording will be available to all registered participants during 30 days (password-secured).

Language

The workshop will be held in English. However, questions may also be asked in Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese.

Please note that by purchasing this product, you are making a binding registration for this continuing education event (regardless of when you pay) and accept the registration and cancellation policy.

Number of participants

The online seminar is limited to 40 participants. The minimum number of participants is 8. If this number is not reached, the earliest registrations will be cancelled free of charge.

Registration and Cancellation Policy

Any cancellations must be submitted in writing (via email) to weiterbildung@astti.ch no later than 11^th June 2025. A cancellation fee of CHF 25 may be charged to cover administrative costs.

After this deadline, all registrations are considered final and will not be refunded, even in the case of non-attendance. Exceptions apply only in cases of documented medical reasons (doctor’s certificate) or force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, official travel restrictions, etc.).

The webinar will be recorded and made available to all registered participants for 30 days via a cloud-based, password-protected platform—regardless of whether they attended the live session. After that, the recording will be permanently deleted.

By registering, you acknowledge and agree that your display name, image, and/or voice may be recorded.

If the event cannot take place or must be interrupted shortly after it begins due to force majeure or insurmountable technical issues on the part of ASTTI or the presenter, the registration fee will be refunded and an alternative date will be arranged. No other compensation claims can be made.
